360-degree feedback: Feedback creates stress! Feedback everywhere. It can happen that the feedback is somewhat emotional or is perceived as inappropriate. It can happen that a team member feels unfairly treated and is demotivated by the feedback. We show how giving feedback can work so that feedback givers and feedback takers have less stress in the respective task.
Social comparison theory:
This theory states that people evaluate themselves by comparing themselves with others. Feedback can therefore be particularly effective if it shows how one’s own performance compares to that of others. The comparison then hits the “self-esteem” level. Here we are dealing with one of the most sensitive interpersonal communication challenges through the comparison “this is how you are – this is how you should be!
