Our communication forum is your ‘safe space’. In the communication forum, you communicate using the self-chosen ‘nickname’ from your registration. Make sure to keep your ‘nickname’ in a safe place so that it is not accessible to others. In the communication forum, we encourage you to participate in discussions, ask questions, or share your own experiences. You may have information or tips that could help others, or you may offer a perspective that allows others to see things in a new way. The ‘Safe Space’ provides a place where your opinion is heard, your questions and information are seen, and your contributions are valued. For your company, we usually create a dedicated ‘Safe Space’ that you can use as an employee.

Data protection is our top priority. When creating the platform, we followed the principle: Privacy first. Specifically, this means that all tools and processes used in programming do not share any data. Better linked works with its own data protection officer. In the communication forum ‘Safe Space,’ you communicate anonymously (‘nickname’ during registration). We encourage respectful and considerate interaction. Within the forum, topics relevant to your company are discussed. These may include issues that concern people or for which they are seeking solutions. Therefore, choose language that you would also use in personal communication. It is likely that you will encounter different opinions and perspectives in some discussions that you may not share. We welcome you to ask open questions and share your perspective without judging others. We have created Dos and Don’ts to point out communication rules. If you do not wish to follow them, please do not post.

We generally communicate on the platform about all internal company topics that matter to you. You set the topics through your posts, questions, and input. Typically, these include topics such as collaboration, communication, values and culture, processes and organization, or questions of leadership and self-efficacy.

You start the registration process directly on the betterlinked.eu website, independently from your company. Each person must register individually. The registration button ‘Register’ can be found in the top right of the header. On the registration page, we ask for your name. To communicate ANONYMOUSLY, choose your own ‘nickname’ that does not reveal your identity. The following criteria apply for the ‘nickname’: The ‘nickname’ should be 4 to 15 characters long and may include letters and numbers, but no spaces, special characters, or email addresses. Numbers only will not work! Your nickname cannot be changed. For registration, we require your COMPANY email address to ensure you get access to your company’s Safe Space. Choose a password that meets the following criteria: It must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character. ANONYMIZATION happens during registration! Your personal data is stored on a server in Germany. Only your NICKNAME is shared with the communication forum, your ‘Safe Space.’ Your email is converted into a non-existent email address and IP addresses are not used. After completing registration, you will receive an email with a confirmation link.

What does anonymity mean at Better linked? We ensure that your contributions in the communication forum ‘Safe Space’ remain truly ANONYMOUS. The ‘nickname’ you selected during registration is the only ‘information’ that appears in the forum. During registration, your actual COMPANY email address is converted into a non-existent email address (ending in betterlinked.eu). Your computer’s IP address is not used. Be careful to share only information that does not reveal your identity (e.g. department/room number/specific tasks).

Empowering people in challenging situations is very important. You can encourage, support, and guide others. We often get stuck with issues we can’t solve alone. Why should we always solve everything ourselves? Ask a question or request suggestions. Others might bring new ideas or perspectives that you haven’t considered or that lead you to completely new approaches. We want to offer a space where your ideas are valued – whether they are perfect or still evolving. A place where you can be yourself without fear of criticism or misunderstanding. Here, every question is welcome, every piece of feedback is an opportunity to grow together. In the ‘Safe Space,’ your voice matters, and you contribute value exactly as you are. You are part of a team that sticks together, where trust and understanding are not just words but a lived reality. The strongest ideas come from collaboration: building a stone wall alone would take a lifetime – but if you cooperate, it’s faster. The wall becomes solid, sustainable, and strong when driven by unity and solidarity.

What happens to your data? Your personal data (registration data) is stored on a server in Germany. During registration, it is completely separated from communication data. For your communication data (ANONYMOUS and not linked to you as a person), we use a cloud solution. Communication on the forum is visible to all individuals who, like you, have access to the company Safe Space. These are usually your colleagues throughout the company and selected experts from Better linked. Your data is not shared with third parties.

Your internal company workshops are stored in the knowledge base so you can view them anytime. Maybe you missed the live session, want to review the content, or are interested in a topic later. These 30-minute workshops are designed so that you can use the content whenever it suits you.

I don’t like change? So why should I get involved now? Definitely not! Yes, a communication forum may be new to you, and participation may require overcoming your usual habits. However, you might sometimes feel the need to raise a topic that is blocking your daily work, or you may question a process that you believe could be improved. An idea or a question you might never have publicly asked before. This could be particularly helpful for someone else. You can find this out through the platform. It’s not about external change but about good ideas or solutions that arise directly from your collaboration. This requires everyone’s participation.

Because many people find change difficult. Things may not be perfect now, but you have adjusted. You may have already gone through several change processes because you had to, not because you wanted to. Now, you may simply want peace. However, your experiences might be valuable. How did you manage all the changes so far? What did you do to stay well? Which steps were difficult? These could be helpful and useful insights for others in the same situation.

Why should I participate? Nothing will change anyway! Maybe you have voiced ideas for improvements and changes in your company/team before and had bad experiences. Maybe you have seen suggestions for improvement disappear into a drawer. Why should this time be different? At Better linked, collaboration is key. It’s about small steps, persistence, motivation, new ideas, and personal as well as team successes. You can be sure that your contribution is valuable and appreciated.

I won’t write anything because my colleagues or my manager might recognize me. What do you think would happen then? We understand your concern, but experience shows that people are very good at ensuring they are not recognized when writing. It’s obviously unwise to include your room number or department in a post, and you surely agree with that. In many topics discussed in the communication forum, it’s not about deeply personal challenges but about questions of collaboration, workflows, or processes that hinder effective work. It’s about your experiences, your perspective, and not about anyone guessing who wrote it.

We work with you, not over your heads. We work together to find solutions and discuss different approaches. There are no wrong answers here, as long as they are respectful. This is about you. Your questions are heard, your challenges are seen, and your solutions and experiences are appreciated.
